HCOM 214: Interpersonal COMM & Conflict

Learning interpersonal communication skills to improve every part of our lives

The English language contains trove of strange collective nouns for different ‘groups’ of animals, such as a group of hippos called a “bloat,” a group of hyenas called a “cackle,” and a group of giraffes called a “tower”.

What kind of group are we?

We are a group of 22 CSUMB students studying interpersonal communication, which is ultimately about learning better ways to connect to each other with respect and compassion.

We are thus all striving to become a tower of giraffes – the animals with the largest heart.

In our student blogs, we reflect and relate about various aspects of communication and conflict — the self, others, perception, emotions, conflict, romance, friends, family, workplace and forgiveness.

HEAR US ROAR! — well, as best as a student giraffe can.
